fact transponder will be read and you cannot exit until you get to mission. chp officers will be out in full force making sure drivers understand. sergeant cross with the california highway patrol, what do you anticipate as the day goes on? >> we anticipate initially there may be confusion but we will have extra officers working the area to be a visible presence as well as conduct enforcement. we highly recommend that spend an extra 10 minutes, do research as far as ins and outs of these express lanes so you are more comfortable. >> what are you looking for as far as making sure people don't cross the lines? >> yeah, the biggest thing, just have that invisible presence, more officers in the area. we want to ensure it is moving smoothly and also want to make sure people are not violating. so if you are stopped there is a possibility you could receive a citation the best thing to do is play it safe, take your time and use the lanes properly. >> very good again this is

pools. >> a north bay community is trying to cope with a tragedy that killed a teenage boy. the nevado high school student died in a car crash saturday. sharon ken is explaining how another teen who was driving is under arrest. >> reporter: yes, more than a dozen grief counsellors here on campus at nevado high school. one classmate died another arrested friday. highway patrol officers say a 16-year-old suspect was driving four passengers, friday morning when he was speeding, lost control and smashed into a semi. police arrested the teen driver on felony dui charges. one 16-year-old passenger died and three other passengers were injured one of them still in critical condition. the truck driver was not injured. students say they had just been warned about the dangers of driving under the influence. >> we just had like assembly on

determine what caused the explosion. mercury news reports pg&e told them that two high risk lines run through the city. exact locations are expected this afternoon. now facing the first lawsuit from the explosion a man who was renting a home near the blast site filed a class action suit he wants pg&e to turn over the $100 million recovery fund to a third party. steve dare's attorney said the cost of recovery will be much more than expected. >> if you look at the real estate people i've talked to, property devaluation, other injuries, personal injuries, possible punitive damages they are going to be a lot more than $100 million. in a written response pg&e says it is committed to the residents and city of san bruno to rebuild and will be there every step of the way. >> time 6:07 a.m.

smoothly the price has remained at $1 for at least the past hour. that is what it will cost you to use the new express lane. actually it is the old hov lane along 680 transformed into an express lane. this is southbound 680 along the senole grade. 14 miles between employee son on the and milpitas -- pleasonton and milpitas. this is how things will look driving through that express lane, half a mile before each entrance you will find a toll pricing sign. like the one we showed you and tolls will vary depending upon congestion. your fast track transponder will be read by automatic sensors charging that fee. once you are in the toll lane you cannot cross the double line you can't exit until you get the mission or end of the road at 237. as for entrances, there are 3 of those, first is just south of 84, then 8 miles later between washington and auto

california now has its first toll road that is not on a bridge. anne makovec is along interstate 680 in fremont, where the new express lane is open. >> northern california has its first toll road not on a a bridge. ann good morning. >> 680 along the senole grade that is where it will display the price of using the express lane all day. 14 miles of highway between 84 and 237 here on 680. right now cost you $1 to use the express lane but the price will depend on congestion. range any where from 30-cents to $6 the express lane will be in effect all day 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. this is how things will look as

you drive through on the express lane, a half mile before each entrance you will find that pricing sign. your fast tract transponder will be read by automatic sensors. once you are in the toll lane you cannot cross the double line. you cannot exit until you get the mission or end of the road at 237. chp will enforce that and busting anyone driving in the express lane without a fast track transponder the fine is $381. the normal hov lane violation unless you qualify for the hov lane. those rules are still in effect. 3 or more people in the vehicle, motorcyclehybrids with stickers, those vehicles can use express lane for free if you do qualify, you are going to want to hide your transponder so you don't get charged. as for entrances there are three of those the first south of 84 then 8 miles later between washington and auto mall just south of mission we have all the information for
